The Magic on Bench Pin

— for “The Midas Touch” show

Steel, discarded paper

The wooden pin attached to the jewelry bench is not unfamiliar for the people who know about jewelry art, jewelry learning starts from it, and many jewelry works are created on it. The bench pin carries the process of exploration of jewelry artists and reflecting “The Midas Touch” of transforming unimpressive material or thought into something valuable.

Each of the bench documented a unique history, three pieces from this series are mimicking the outline of bench pin from three friends of mine, to express my gratitude for their dedication to the jewelry field all the time; one piece is mimicking my bench pin, to encourage me to keep researching the art of jewelry; the last undamaged one is made for whom loves jewelry.

Only the last piece is for sale, the price is listed at ¥580(€73), but the piece will be for free when the person wants to collect it and is in her/his process of payment. The idea is that material and working could be valued, but the will to explore jewelry is priceless.
